The Office of Campus Recreation offers plenty of campus recreation to help you stay active and have fun during your time on campus! Get involved in one of our many intramural sports teams or head to a class at our student fitness centers. Take a weekend and explore the great outdoors with the GCU Outdoor Recreation Program. There is plenty to help you stay in shape while also getting to know other Lopes!

The Office of Campus Recreation is here to empower students in creating community that encourages a healthy lifestyle by staying active in a variety of program offerings with Intramural Sports, Outdoor Recreation and Student Fitness.

Intramural Sports

Intramurals are your opportunity to build relationships and experience fellowship through sports! We strive to build and operate a program that promotes community on campus, but most importantly brings glory to God. We offer three different divisions so that you can participate, regardless of your skill level: competitive, recreational and coed.

GCU Outdoor Recreation Program

The GCU Outdoor Recreation Program serves students by providing outlets of outdoor recreation to engage both individuals and groups in adventure, fellowship, environmental stewardship, leadership development and outdoor education. Our mission is to advance relationships through these outlets and strive to provide a positive experience for the students. We will fuel endless adventures that occur in God's creation to help challenge students physically, spiritually and mentally.

Student Fitness Centers

GCU provides an environment where students can stay active and live a healthy lifestyle. Three fully equipped student fitness centers are available on campus in the following residential locations. Students have access to strength equipment, free weights, cardio machines and fun fitness activities and classes like Zumba, yoga and more.

Canyon Activity Complex

The Canyon Activity Complex is the new home for student recreation at GCU, giving students the opportunity to play, work out and relax with friends in a spacious environment. The 136,000-square-foot facility includes basketball, volleyball and pickleball courts and a weight room, along with ping-pong tables, arcade games, a full-service Lopes Mart and a lounge area with TVs, couches and Wi-Fi. The facility also includes outdoor fields, a DEK roller hockey rink and a climbing wall. The Canyon Activity Complex (CAC), located on Missouri Avenue between 29th Avenue and 30th Drive.

Due to the popularity of current activities at the center, we recommend calling the front desk to check availability.

Lopes Performance Center

Our beautiful 55,000-square-foot recreation center features three full-size basketball courts as the centerpiece of this multipurpose facility. The Performance Athletic Center (PAC) on the ground level is used for training student-athletes. The second floor of the LPC is dedicated for student fitness space where you can use a variety of free weights, weight machines, and cardio and core equipment. Looking for a workout plan? We have you covered with a variety of offerings and resources to help get you on the right fitness track.
