As a parent of a GCU student, you are now officially part of our extended Lope family. The role you have in the life of your student over their college career plays an integral part in the success they will have on campus. College is a time of growth in terms of your student’s academic pursuits, personal development and spiritual formation — and we want to partner with you in that endeavor.
Throughout your student's time at GCU, our office can offer support and provide you with resources to stay connected. We also encourage you to take part in events tailored just for you. We encourage you to sign up for our monthly Parent Connection e-newsletter, 'like' the GCU Parent Connection Facebook page and see if there is a Lope Family Prayer Group near you. To be even more involved, apply to be part of our Parent Council in the spring.
We pray that this year brings many blessings and we look forward to seeing you on campus.
Parent and Family Programs Coordinator
Every fall, Grand Canyon University invites families to discover Lope Life and learn more about our growing campus. Don’t miss out on the exciting weekend-long events! At Family Weekend, you’ll experience your student’s unique journey at GCU and enjoy fun activities together.
Our next Family Weekend will be Oct. 9-11, 2020. Registration is set to open in mid-July. Family Weekend is traditionally the second weekend of October.
To help you feel more connected, we offer Lope Family Prayer Groups across the country to bring parents and family members of GCU students together to pray for their students and the University. Lope Family Prayer Groups meet on a monthly basis.
To join a Lope Family Prayer Group, view the current list and sign up.
Serve the City
Every spring, families and students have the opportunity to serve the Canyon Corridor community surrounding GCU through a half day service project. This year Serve the City will take place Saturday, February 1, 2020.
Parent Council is comprised of parent volunteers who serve as liaisons to GCU by representing and expressing views of parents to the administration, while also communicating university goals and plans to parents. The Parent Council meets on campus twice per year with the goal of serving parents and their students, participating as volunteers during university events or programs and helping to generate ideas for parent and family programming.
Applications for Parent Council open every spring. Details for applying will be communicated through the Parent Connection Newsletter.
