The Office of Student Engagement is home to several important groups and departments on campus, including clubs, intramurals, commuter life, the Associated Students of Grand Canyon University (ASGCU) and more. Our goal is to help you make the most of your time on campus and immerse yourself in the full college experience.
We are focused on one thing - we turn students into Lopes for life! During your time at Grand Canyon University (GCU), you will discover your purpose, develop your gifts and deploy your service.
The Canyon Activities Board (CAB) plan most of the events and activities throughout the year to help you get involved, make new friends and get to know the GCU community. Are you a commuter student? Learn more.

The Freshman Class Council is an organization within ASGCU that extends an opportunity for freshmen to get involved on campus, make new friends, enjoy fellowship with one another and work with ASGCU. Freshman Class Council has flourished thanks to students like you who are representatives of Christ, committed to serving others and creating long-lasting friendships within and outside of the organization.
ASGCU leadership is broken down into two areas: the Executive Board and the President's Cabinet.
The Executive Board is charged with the leadership of ASGCU and the entire student body. With the president at the helm, the Executive Board sets the agenda for the year, envisions new ideas and serves as the link between students and GCU administration.
Members of the ASGCU President's Cabinet carry out specific projects, programs and services that focus on their individual areas of expertise. Cabinet members also provide advice and insight to the president. Cabinet members include the vice president, chief of staff, historian, director of communications, director of public relations and director of clubs and organizations.
The ASGCU Senate is a student-run organization that is responsible for collectively representing traditional students at GCU. As a whole, the Senate represents the student voice, engages GCU administration on policy matters and initiates new programs and services based on student need. The Senate is the deliberative body where all authority from ASGCU originates.
ASGCU has three teams that handle different aspects of student and university relations.
Public Relations Team
Our team administers opportunities for the GCU student population to serve the entire GCU community and the neighboring community that surrounds the university. The Public Relations Team is also tasked with creatively and interactively promoting ASGCU programs and initiatives. It represents ASGCU and the student body at both on-campus and off-campus events.
The Communications Team develops and coordinates all aspects of ASGCU communication and marketing. This includes all print and digital messaging that directly relates to ASGCU initiatives and programs. We also work hard to spread the word about the exciting activities that take place at GCU, on top of publishing the now infamous "Stall Talk" that you can read in the restrooms around campus.
Clubs and Organizations Team
Our team supports club-specific events and meetings, communicating with club leadership and serving as their liaisons to GCU staff. The Clubs and Organizations Team contributes a great deal to the GCU community, to advance and support the efforts of initiatives on campus.
